โดยในครั้งนี้ BTS สามารถคว้ารางวัล Favorite Pop Group ติดต่อกันเป็นปีที่ 3
รางวัล Favorite Pop Song จากซิงเกิล Butter
และรางวัลใหญ่ที่สุดของเวทีนี้ Artist of the Year นั่นเอง
BTS ถือว่าเป็นศิลปินจากเอเชียรายแรกที่สามารถคว้ารางวัลใหญ่บนเวที American Music Awards ท่ามกลางเสียงปรบมือและความดีใจของสมาชิกวง BTS พร้อมกับการกล่าวขอบคุณอาร์มี่และรู้สึกเป็นเกียรติอย่างยิ่งที่ได้รับรางวัลนี้โดย คิม นัม-จุน (RM)
